PERMANENT MAKEUP BROWS

FINE LINE TATTOOS

Timing your treatment

For both PMU brows and Fine Line Tattoos, it is important to plan ahead. Each has its own timeline for receiving the best results.

PMU BROWS: at least 8 weeks prior to an event

FINE LINE TATTOO: 2-3 weeks before your event

Pre Treatment Guidelines

One week prior avoid self-tanning, blood thinning medications or supplements such as aspirin, ibuprofen, vitamin E, fish oil, and garlic as they can thin your blood. (Unless prescribed - check with your doctor), no chemical peels, facials or laser treatments near the area, no waxing, threading or exfoliating the area, no retinols, AHA/BHA's or acne products near the area.

24-48 Hours prior avoid caffeine (coffee, energy drinks, tea), alcohol, intense workouts, sun exposure and tanning

Day of your appointment

- Don't wear makeup, lotion or SPF on the treatment area

- Avoid tight clothing if you're getting a body tattoo (a zip up, pasties or bikini is recommended for spine/rib tattoos)

- Eat a light meal and stay hydrated

- Arrive on time and enjoy your glam time

AFTER CARE

PERMANENT MAKEUP BROWS

Immediately After Your Appointment

- For the first few hours, gently blot your brows with a clean tissue every 30-60 minutes to remove excess lymph fluid (this helps reduce scabbing)

- Don't wash or apply ointment yet-just keep them clean and dry

2-10 Days After Your Appointment

Your brows will start to flake around day 3-5. Let them do this naturally- no picking or peeling

- Once per day, gently wash your brows with clean hands and fragrance-free, gentle cleanser

- Use lukewarm water to rinse, no scrubbing or rubbing

- Pat dry with a clean paper towel-not bath towel

- After cleansing and drying, apply a thin layer of aftercare ointment. Do not over apply-your skin needs to breathe!

AVOID WHILE HEALING (1-10 days)

- No makeup, skincare, or sunscreen on or near the brows

- No sweating, saunas, hot yoga or heavy work outs

- No swimming, steam or sun exposure

- No facials, peels or active skincare (retinol, AHA, BHA, etc.)

- Do NOT touch scratch or pick

Healing Timeline

Day 1-2: Brows will look bold and dark

Day 3-7: Light flaking and scabbing begin (don't panic-this is normal)

Day 7-10: Bros may appear patchy and too light

Week 3-4: Pigment begins to settle

Week 6-8: Touch up time - this completes the process (Touch ups come with your original brow service if scheduled within the first 6 months of your initial appointment)

FINE LINE TATTOOS

When Can I Take My Saniderm Off?

Saniderm is a second skin applied to a fresh tattoo that is to protect the skin. This is for bigger tattoo's only and can be left on anywhere from 24-72 hours then taken off. It is best to be taken off in the shower or under lukewarm water. We do not recommended saniderm because there is risk of pulling the ink out when taking it off due to the lines being so fine and dainty.

Day 1:

Wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water before touching your tattoo. Upon returning home, gently wash your tattoo with lukewarm water and mild unscented soap. Pat the tattoo dry with a clean, lint-free towel or allow it to air dry completely. Do not rub the tattoo. Apply a very thin layer of tattoo ointment before bed.

Day 2-7:

Apply a very thin layer of the provided healing ointment to the tattooed area. Use clean, washed hands to gently rub the ointment into the skin. Ensure the tattoo remains moisturized but not overly wet or greasy.

Repeat the application of the haling ointment 1-3 times a day or as needed to prevent the tattoo from drying out. Avoid submerging your tattoo in shower water for prolonged periods during the initial healing weeks.

Day 7-14:

Continue using tattoo healing ointment once a day or if you prefer switch to a regular unscented lotion such at cera-ve, Cetaphil or Lubriderm as needed. Protect your tattoo from direct sunlight and tanning beds during the healing process. Apply a high SPF sunscreen (50 or higher) if you must expose your tattoo in the sun.

- No picking, scratching, or peeling - let flaking happen naturally

- No direct water pressure, swimming, soaking in tubs, oceans, or lakes (avoid bodies of water) for at least 3 weeks.

- No saunas, steam rooms or hot yoga (Avoid excessive sweating)

- No scented lotions or unprotected sun exposure (sunscreen can only be applied once fully healed)

- No tight clothing that rubs against the tattoo

AVOID WHILE HEALING

Healing Timeline

Day 1-3: Tattoo may feel tight, slightly red or sensitive

Day 3-7: Light flaking or dryness is normal

Day 7-10: Skin smooths over and tattoo settles

Weeks 3-4: Final results begin to show

Remember that everyone's skin is different therefore healing process can vary, so it is essential to monitor your tattoo progress and adjust your aftercare routine accordingly. Always consult your tattoo artist if you have any questions or concerns during the healing process. Proper aftercare helps ensure your fine line tattoo heals beautifully and maintains its vibrancy and quality for years to come.

Some skin holds in better than others and a touch up for a fine line tattoo is completely normal, Lux Line Artistry offers free touch ups for any tattoo initially done at LLA. Touch ups are not done any sooner than 4 weeks of the initial session. If your experiencing fading and need a touch up, please reach out!

MODERN PIERCINGS

FIRST 24 HRS - 7 DAYS

Leave your jewelry in place - do not twist or rotate, clean the piercing with sterile saline 2x per day, always washing your hands before touching the area. Allow your piercing to air dry after cleaning.

WEEK 2 - 4

Continue cleaning 2x a day, crusting is normal - this is your body healing. DO NOT PICK (let warm shower water run over the piercing to help soften build up)

WEEK 4 - 8

Continue cleaning your piercing. Know that irritation often comes from extra pressure, friction or snagging. You can now downsize your jewelry if recommended per piercer to prevent bumps and shifting (This does NOT mean healed enough yet to completely change jewelry)

MONTH 2 - 6+

Continue giving your piercing gentle care until it is fully healed, do not change jewelry until advised by your piercer, remember that your piercings heal from the outside in.

AVOID WHILE HEALING

- Twisting or rotating your jewelry

- Touching your piercing unnecessarily

- Alcohol, hydrogen peroxide, ointments or tea tree oil

- Swimming in pools, lakes or hot tubs during early healing

- Sleeping directly on ear piercings

- Changing jewelry too soon

Do NOT over clean. More is NOT better
